Janakpurdham: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Yubaraj Pal, a tax officer at the Inland Revenue Office in Lahan, for allegedly accepting a bribe from a service recipient.
According to
Prakash Pokharel, Information Officer at the CIAA, a team deployed from the
Commission's Bardibas Office apprehended Pal while he was allegedly receiving
the bribe.
Preliminary
investigations indicate that Pal demanded and accepted the bribe in exchange
for facilitating the tax audit of a company based in Lahan.
Pokharel
said that further investigation into the incident is underway. The CIAA is
working to determine the exact amount of the bribe and examine other aspects
related to the case.
